Bantimurung, situated 42 kms from Makassar, is a protected government natural reserve. Enjoy the panoramic beauty of the three waterfalls with the cooler air surrounding and plenty of high trees. There are also many caves located in the cliffs but one famous thing from this place is the unique and beautiful butterfly. Leang-Leang National Prehistoric Park with its own unique feel will give you a different experience. You will be surprised with the human fingerprint from the past and also the historic painting that dates back almost 5000 years.
